RJA #11b: Visual Aids

I could use a graph showing how many women are mutilated every year..
Show what they do to the girls...

RJA #11a: Introduction

People need to be aware of not only things that are going wrong in our culture but people need to be educated on what is going on in other cultures. Normal Lear once said, “It seems to me that any full grown, mature adult would have a desire to be responsible, to help where he can in a world that needs so very much, that threatens us so very much.” If people understand the issues that are going on around everyone then maybe we can help people who are being put through torture, poverty, etc. Everyone is raised differently; however it is inhumane for our culture to stand back and watch pure torture happen to those around us. Culturally a woman who has gone through Female Genital Mutilation is more desirable in countries like Africa and Asia. Mothers stand by their daughters when they are being mutilated. Female Genital Mutilation originated in Africa in the 5th century. Female genital mutilation is torture. It is a crime against the body and the mind of the women affected.

RJA #10b: Argument

Female Genital Mutilation should be an old practice and should not be performed anymore because there are more hurtful things about this procedure then beneficial things to this procedure, including severe health risks, emotional problems, etc. It is part of culture to perform FGM because it is believed that a woman wont cheat on her husband if she loosing feeling in her genitals, and it is also done by a doctor who is trained in this practice.

RJA #10 a

Female Genital Mutilation is more harmful then beneficial. There are many health complications that come with Female Genital Mutilation.
